Paris Haute Couture Week opened on July 6 under a heat wave, three days after Jonathan Anderson dressed Taylor Swift for her wedding. Paper fans were the accessory of the season, and the best seats went, as usual, to a mix of film and music: Sabrina Carpenter at Dior, Bad Bunny at Schiaparelli, Teyana Taylor at both Chanel and Balenciaga, and Giveon and Cynthia Erivo at Piccioli’s first couture show. Here’s what the main shows looked like and who sat in the front row.
Dior: Anderson Grows a Forest
Jonathan Anderson presented Dior’s Fall 2026 collection on Monday in what The Zoe Report called “an earthy green forest,” teased days before with videos of greenery on Instagram. Three-dimensional petals, ferns and beaded parasols bloomed from gowns and lightweight suiting, the Bar jacket came back with fringed trim and sheer paneling, and the bags arrived in a garden’s worth of flowers, plus minaudières shaped like a silver armadillo and a green cactus. TheWrap traced it to the sculptor Lynda Benglis, whose poured latex works inspired the knotting, pleating and molding.

The front row was an awards-show list. Sabrina Carpenter returned in a gauzy white dress with matching pigtails, Priyanka Chopra Jonas came with Nick Jonas in orange, red and yellow petals, and Josh O’Connor and the musician Ethel Cain wore the house’s new brown gingham. EJAE and Parker Posey sat nearby.

Schiaparelli: Bad Bunny in Butter Yellow
Daniel Roseberry swapped silk and satin for latex and silicone, with nylon hosiery tubes standing in for feathers. Emma Corrin arrived looking like a bird of prey, and Bad Bunny, who brought the house into menswear with his corseted look at February’s Grammys, came in butter-yellow tailoring with a hairy necktie. Zendaya wore a molded Schiaparelli bustier that same night at The Odyssey premiere in London, the dress having debuted on the runway that morning.
Chanel: Matthieu Blazy Tells a Fairy Tale
Blazy’s second couture collection for Chanel, “Gaby and the Beanstalk,” sent embroidered, sheer and bejeweled looks down a runway lined with colorful “toxic” flowers and swirling vines, with pearl-covered beans, glazed butterflies and bear- and hen-shaped minaudières. “I started to wonder, was Gabrielle Chanel’s life a fairy tale?” he wrote in his show notes, after finding a book of fairy tales in her library. The show closed with “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer.

Teyana Taylor wore what looked like a denim “Canadian tuxedo” that was actually covered in sequins. Lupita Nyong’o, fresh from the world premiere of The Odyssey, shimmered in a pailette-coated dress, Cole Escola and Tilda Swinton wore sheer looks with graphic lines that nodded to the house’s tweed, and Pedro Pascal came with his sister Lux in a white T-shirt and a striped sweater over his shoulders.
Balenciaga: Piccioli’s Couture Debut
Pierpaolo Piccioli’s first couture collection for Balenciaga, shown on Wednesday outdoors in the midday heat, looked to the house’s beginnings under Cristóbal Balenciaga. It had ballooning volumes and feathers, but with a casual twist: a tank top with taffeta and opera gloves. The collection notes introduce AMSilk, a bioengineered silk alternative.
Teyana Taylor, whom The Zoe Report called the week’s most enthusiastic and best-dressed guest, wore a milky-brown silk dress over pants, with a copper silk press that fell to her knees. Giveon, Cynthia Erivo (in a brown sequined gown under a matching suede bomber), Hudson Williams, Lily Collins and Shailene Woodley were there too. The star of the front row, though, was Piccioli’s dog, Miranda, who lay on the ground while guests fanned her.
Also on the Calendar
Jennifer Lopez sat in Zuhair Murad’s front row for the first time, in a sculptural ivory jacket with crystal embroidery. Iris van Herpen showed a “Fractal Universe” dress that was charged in a particle accelerator days before the show. And Swift’s Dior gown, TheWrap noted a week later, was still “the only one anyone wants to see.”
