January’s fashion calendar is the men’s season, and this year it ran on guest stars. The month opened on Jan. 6 with Louis Vuitton’s “The Art of Travel” campaign, which put house ambassadors Jeremy Allen White and Pusha T on trains and platforms for the first time together, per Dazed. After that came Milan, then Paris, then couture, with a designer shake-up on the last day. Here are seven moments worth remembering, in the order they happened.
Jan. 16: Hudson Williams Hits the Slopes at Dsquared2

Heated Rivalry had been the talk of the month, so Dsquared2 cast its star. On Friday night in Milan, Hudson Williams opened the show in a denim jacket on a snow-covered runway, with fog, an AI-composed soundtrack and parkas stacked over suits, per Dazed. It was the clearest case of a fashion house borrowing the internet’s attention span. Full roundup.
Jan. 20: Pharrell Turns Louis Vuitton Into a Listening Party
Paris opened with a glass house on a lawn and four unreleased songs: John Legend’s “Pray for Ya,” Jackson Wang with Pusha T, A$AP Rocky’s “Disturbing the P” and Quavo’s “Hit-A-Lik.” Highsnobiety called the clothes “an understated Louis Vuitton.” Full story.
Jan. 21: Dior Puts a Third of Its Models in Yellow Wigs

Jonathan Anderson’s second Dior menswear show earned the line the AP quoted from the front row: “Dior is back. It’s a good day for fashion.” It also had the neon wigs, and, per Highsnobiety, a fur-lined parka inspired by Mk.gee, who was on the moodboard and in the front row. Anderson said before the show he didn’t want “normality.” The clothes under the wigs were the real news: lean tailoring, cropped Bar jackets and lace-ups with small heels. Full roundup.
Jan. 22: Rick Owens Goes Dune Meets The Matrix

Owens, who has built a career on staging rooms, stripped his Palais de Tokyo show back to smoke, light beams and ambient music. Dazed summed it up as “Dune meets The Matrix”: heavy leather jackets, mini boleros and floor-length headdresses the models had to part with their hands to see through.
Jan. 23: Willy Chavarria Stages a Broadway Show

Chavarria’s show at the Dojo de Paris ran about 25 minutes in three acts, Faith, Hope and Wisdom, according to Numéro, and was built around live music from Mon Laferte, Lunay, Mahmood, Feid and Santos Bravos on a set modeled on a New York street. Complex called it Paris Fashion Week’s biggest spectacle. Chavarria said he wanted to bridge music and fashion. “I love this idea of music being a part of fashion and them existing together,” he told Complex.
Jan. 26: Dior Couture Wants You to Touch Grass

A week after the men’s show, Anderson presented his couture debut in the same Rodin Museum structure, this time with a ceiling of moss, flowers and branches. Rihanna arrived last, per Dazed, and guests included Greta Lee, Josh O’Connor, Taylor Russell, Alexa Chung and Ethel Cain. The notes read: “When you copy nature, you always learn something.” The first look was a black column gown tied in a bow at the hem, with a green grass-like sleeve over the model’s arm.
Jan. 30: Pieter Mulier Leaves Alaïa

The month’s last story was a designer exit. Alaïa announced on Jan. 30 that Mulier, its creative director since 2021, will leave after his final collection in March. “We sincerely thank Pieter for his vision and commitment, writing an important chapter in the ongoing evolution of the Maison,” CEO Myriam Serrano said. Dazed reports that WWD expects him to replace Dario Vitale at Versace, which the Prada Group bought last year, though no announcement had been made.

Two more Paris stories belong in the file. Jaden Smith unveiled his first collection as the first men’s creative director of Christian Louboutin with a red-lit exhibition, and told Complex he is mixing his “African American Dadaist perspective with the heritage of a historical French maison.” And Kai Cenat went to his first-ever fashion show, at 424, then took in Louis Vuitton and KidSuper, which Complex named the week’s best celebrity moment.

February starts with the Grammys and ends in Milan. Look for the Grammys red carpet, Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl look and Demna’s first Gucci show.
