The last look at Collina Strada’s Spring 2027 show wasn’t a look at all. It was Carly Rae Jepsen walking back down a mowed-grass runway at Storm King Art Center, microphone in hand, singing “Cut to the Feeling” while every model ran back through the field toward her, Highsnobiety reports. Jepsen wore a flowing pink Collina cape, Dazed adds, and the moment turned into a post-show dance party.

The show, titled Detour, took place on Tuesday (Sept. 15). Hillary Taymour skipped Manhattan and Brooklyn for Storm King, a 500-acre outdoor museum about 58 miles north of New York City, with buses leaving from Lispenard Street on a trip of roughly two hours. A long curve of mowed grass served as the catwalk and white wooden benches as the front row.

I was just given the opportunity to do the first-ever runway show at Storm King, and how can you say no to that?

The show notes read like a curatorial statement. “We wanted to make a show that wasn’t just hosted by a museum, but inspired by the way you experience one,” Taymour wrote, per Dazed, and the clothes were meant to move through the landscape: exaggerated silhouettes, generous ruffles, soft pastels and plenty of sequins that flashed in strong sunlight.

Highsnobiety also saw a full-length spangled silver gown, plaid in shiny leggings and stacked skirts, which is Taymour’s signature print, and punk touches including mohawks and a black T-shirt with safety pins down the cut-off sleeves. Hypebae reports the collection used deadstock fabrics and recycled sequins and arrived with two footwear collaborations, one with Converse and one with KEEN.

The FADER’s NYFW roundup lists the Jepsen finale among the week’s musician takeovers. An afterparty picnic followed, with a margarita fountain, a candy bar and tarot readings, according to Highsnobiety’s account.
