Bad Bunny now has an Emmy, and a record to go with it. His Super Bowl LX halftime show won seven awards on Saturday (Sept. 5) at the Creative Arts Emmys, more than any halftime performance in the Television Academy’s history, Complex reported. It was the most-awarded program of the night, ahead of The Traitors with six, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert with five and The Muppet Show with four.

The wins included outstanding variety special (live), music direction and choreography, according to Variety. Bad Bunny won as both lead performer and executive producer, which gave the reggaeton star his first Emmy. The top prize makes the show only the second halftime performance to take the live variety special award, after the 2022 show with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent, and, SPIN noted, the first Spanish-language program ever to win it.

The 13-minute show turned Levi’s Stadium into a rotating series of Puerto Rican settings, including a sugar cane field, a bodega, a casita and a wedding party, with guest appearances from Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. Jay-Z, whose Roc Nation executive-produced it, picked up his third Emmy, having won earlier for the 2022 halftime show and Kendrick Lamar’s 2025 set, per Complex. Fellow executive producers Desiree Perez, Jesse Collins and Dave Meyers also won.

Music director Miguel Gandelman described how the band came together around the artist’s schedule.

The hardest part for me was catching Benito on tour. I had to record the band, so I had to go to Colombia. I had to go to Chile.

The sweep adds to a banner year. Debí Tirar Más Fotos became the first Spanish-language album to win the Grammy for Album of the Year earlier in 2026, and, SPIN reports, his tour has sold out stadiums around the world except, of course, in North America.

Elsewhere on the night, Sabrina Carpenter won her first Emmy as executive producer and performer on The Muppet Show, which took outstanding variety special (pre-recorded), beating Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour | The Final Show. Carpenter, who did not attend, thanked the Television Academy online and said “a whole lot of love and happiness and hard work and diva fights” went into the special, per Variety.

The Creative Arts ceremonies honor behind-the-scenes and technical work. The main event, the 78th Emmy Awards hosted by Mariska Hargitay, followed on Monday, Sept. 14 on NBC, and we have the results in our Emmys recap.
