Justice Composed the ‘GTA VI’ Score, and “Flower in a Hurricane” Is in the Launch Trailer

Justice are the sound of Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar confirmed Thursday (Oct. 15) that the French electronic duo composed the game’s original score, and it released a new Justice single, “Flower in a Hurricane,” alongside the news. The song features Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, and Rockstar’s release calls it “the musical foundation for today’s Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer,” per WorthPlaying. The three guests trade vocals on what Rolling Stone calls a modern take on a song gamers might have heard on the Vice City soundtrack. Billboard and Rolling Stone both hear an opening riff that recalls Dire Straits’ “Money for Nothing,” and Rolling Stone notes that Mark Knopfler is not among the 11 songwriters credited. The last Grand Theft Auto score, for 2013’s Grand Theft Auto V, was a collaboration between the Alchemist, Tangerine Dream, Woody Jackson and Oh No, mixed and synced by DJ Shadow, Pitchfork notes. Justice arrive off 2024’s Hyperdrama, whose “Neverender,” another Tame Impala team-up, won Best Dance/Electronic Recording at the 2025 Grammys. Snippets of their score already played in August’s extended look at the game, Billboard says, and Rockstar’s release says to “stay tuned for more information on Justice’s original score album for Grand Theft Auto VI.”

“Flower in a Hurricane” is also on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the 34-song soundtrack due with the game. Pitchfork counts nine songs out so far, including Yung Lean’s “That’s It,” Travis Scott’s “Rhyno” and Cardi B’s “Don’t Chart.” Rockstar has also named its in-game radio hosts, from Bad Bunny’s Cocoteo FM to Robyn’s Flash FM and Lana Del Rey’s Back Country Radio.
