Action Bronson’s New Balance 2811 got robbed, and he has made a movie out of it. The two new colorways, “Blackjacques” and “The Whisperer,” arrived Friday (Sept. 25), Hypebeast reports, along with a second short film that makes fun of the theft.
He addressed the theft on camera in August. White-and-blue pairs of the 2811 had started showing up on the secondary market before any official release, and in a video posted to social media he told anyone buying them where they came from, Sole Retriever reported on Aug. 11.

He isn’t the first collaborator to deal with it. Sole Retriever notes that Joe Freshgoods had his Performance Art 993 pack taken ahead of release too, and went around Chicago with a stack of cash buying his own sneakers back.

The new film leans in. In its preview, Sole Retriever says, actress Vanessa Ferlito, known for Death Proof and NCIS: New Orleans, delivers the news to Bronson, and he heads off in a vintage BMW after the cargo.
The shoes themselves are the second chapter of a signature model. The 2811, Bronson’s first original silhouette with New Balance rather than a rework, pairs a new upper with the sole unit from the 2010. Highsnobiety called it part hiking shoe, part dad shoe and part sci-fi prototype, adding that it “feels exactly how you’d expect an Action Bronson sneaker to feel.” The first colorway, “Mikročpske,” arrived in July after a Brooklyn launch event.
“Blackjacques” is the pair people saw first: Bronson wore it courtside at a Lakers game, posing with Martin Lawrence, per Sole Retriever, before the model was even announced. It’s built from black suede, dark gray mesh and TPU overlays, with Knicks-style orange and blue on the “N” and striping. “The Whisperer” goes lighter, with a white and black base, Hypebeast says, and both carry small red and blue accents tied to his Baklava branding.
As Ferlito tells him in the preview, “the bulk of our product has been stolen.”
