Doechii came back on Monday (Oct. 12) with a minute and a half of jackhammer rap and a golden breastplate that turns into a gun turret.
“Bombs” is her first solo release of 2026 and the first Swamp Sessions installment of the year, per Billboard. The series is how she built toward 2024’s Alligator Bites Never Heal: short, aggressively rapped songs with heavily art-directed videos, including “Nissan Altima” and “Catfish,” which made the mixtape. Stereogum calls the new beat “a high-BPM jackhammer attack with tons of flying-saucer Theremin sounds,” and Doechii keeps pace, spitting “Million-dollar label advances bore me / Make that when I post on a Story.”

She directed the video herself. It moves from a mountainside forest into a dark cave, with Doechii in a metallic bikini and a golden breastplate that Billboard compares to the Fembots in Austin Powers. Watch it below.
The first endorsement came fast. Doja Cat, whose 2023 Scarlet Tour Doechii opened, told rap fans to press play, and Doechii answered, “Listen to her yall!” Complex has both posts.

A mission is brewing inside of me (a responsibility really) to see Black Womanhood exist at the center of Hip-Hop AND Pop.

That mission has a job to do. Doechii still hasn’t released an official debut album: Alligator Bites Never Heal was billed as a mixtape, though it peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 and won best rap album at the 2025 Grammys, and she has said a new album is coming. Earlier this year she dueted with Lady Gaga on “Runway” from The Devil Wears Prada 2, which peaked at No. 50 on the Hot 100. Stereogum reads “Bombs” as the first piece of a big rollout, noting she tops next year’s Primavera Sound bill.
No title or release date for the album has been announced.
