The first name on Primavera Sound’s 2027 poster belongs to someone who has never played the festival. Doechii tops the bill for the Barcelona institution’s 25th edition, June 3 to 5 at Parc del Fòrum, with Phoebe Bridgers and Fontaines D.C. right behind her. The lineup, revealed Monday (Oct. 5), runs to 151 acts.
It’s a big booking for a rapper between records. Doechii became the third woman to win the Grammy for best rap album with Alligator Bites Never Heal, then took best music video for “Anxiety” at this year’s ceremony in February, where she promised more. “I’m in a different head space, I have a new album coming,” she said that night, asked about her Roberto Cavalli dress. No album has arrived yet, and The FADER noted that her headline slot raises the question of whether one will by June.

For anyone following the U.K. underground, the booking to circle sits in the poster’s second column, between Underworld and Kim Petras: EsDeeKid. The Liverpool rapper keeps his identity under wraps, and his 2025 debut mixtape, Rebel, established him as one of the fast-rising names in U.K. rap, with chart placements on both sides of the Atlantic. Timothée Chalamet joined him on a remix of “4 Raws” last December.

He has a busy few months first. EsDeeKid is in the middle of his 48-date Council House Rat Tour, which reaches Barcelona’s Paral·lel 62 on Nov. 25 and ends with two hometown shows in Liverpool on Dec. 10 and 11, per mxdwn.
Primavera gave its whole top block equal billing, in the same size type. Alongside the first three are Hayley Williams, FKA twigs, Turnstile, Massive Attack, the Chemical Brothers, Robyn, Bad Gyal, Lola Young, ADÉLA, Caroline Polachek and Prospa, with Skrillex and the Australian artist Ninajirachi closing the festival back to back. FKA twigs is promising an “all-new show,” and Massive Attack and Bad Gyal get another shot after rain wiped out their headline sets at this year’s edition. The festival’s press release calls the bill “unequivocally led by female artists.”
As usual, the depth is the draw. Further down are Tinashe, Kim Petras, underscores, Isaiah Rashad, JT, Shygirl and Snow Strippers, plus a few returns: math-rock band Don Caballero play live for the first time since 2009, Simian Mobile Disco come back from a hiatus that began in 2018, and Deerhunter’s Bradford Cox revives Atlas Sound. Watch the lineup announcement below.
The three main days are bookended by a free opening day on June 2 and Primavera Bits on June 6, when Richie Hawtin, Four Tet and Dixon will trade sets across an eight-hour marathon, the first time the three have done that together anywhere, according to The Line of Best Fit.
