London has a new room where an arena-sized production fits in front of 600 people, and it comes with a broadcast control room built in. Apple Music Hall, inside Battersea Power Station, opened on Monday (Sept. 28) with Elton John, his first public U.K. performance in more than three years. He wrapped his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour at Glastonbury in June 2023.
The room is built for two audiences. In person, the old power station gives it heritage brickwork, fluted arches and bronze balconies, plus a 38-foot-wide stage that can be set up front-facing or in the round. Online, it’s a studio: a 48-speaker spatial-audio system, two recording and mix studios, a broadcast control room and hookups for 16 or more cameras, so an artist can walk in, play and leave with a finished concert film and multitrack recording. An on-site Apple Music Radio studio sits alongside.
Apple Music Hall is a fantastic venue, like nothing fans will have ever seen before. The production quality is world class, livestreaming to fans across the world, from a live room where every square foot has the artist and their fans in mind.

Communion ONE, the independent U.K. promoter, programs the hall. Elton opened with “Your Song,” according to Let’s Talk Apple, and the show streamed live on Apple Music.
