Yung Miami started her debut album rollout by playing the insults back. The trailer for Watch Dis, shared Thursday (Oct. 1), opens on public criticism from Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks, who says, “You failed at everything in life, the music you made is wack,” before cutting to Miami in the studio.
The album arrives Oct. 23 with 20 songs, Pitchfork reports, and features from Quavo, G Herbo, Lil Baby, Kodak Black, Shenseea and Vybz Kartel, among others. Miami launched it with two new singles, “F You” and “2008,” and a video for the latter. “F You,” produced by London On Da Track, flips the Yo Gotti and Meek Mill song of the same name. “2008” reunites her with J White, the producer behind her breakout solo hit “Spend Dat,” and leans into the Southern rap of that era. Watch “2008” below.
In the trailer, Miami says the album took some nerve. “I don’t know how some days I built the courage to go in the studio to even record,” she says. “But I remember putting all my emotions, all of that energy, everything that I felt, into this album.”

Her launch statement, as Complex reported it, sets the mood for the whole rollout.
They counted me out, and I heard every bit of it. I could’ve come back with one song and played it safe, but why?

Releasing two songs and a video on day one was her way of showing confidence, she said. On X she called the project “personal” and added, “This is me betting on ME.”
The timing is deliberate. “Spend Dat” became her biggest solo record, reaching No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topping Urban Radio, Rap Airplay and Rhythm Radio, according to Complex, and it has since picked up a remix with Lil Baby and Kodak Black and an international version with Davido, Shenseea and Vybz Kartel. It is a long way from where she was two years ago, when City Girls split to focus on solo careers. Watch Dis is her debut solo album; the last record under the City Girls name was 2023’s RAW, made with JT.
The sound goes back to where she started. “I wanted to go back to my roots and what inspires me about being from Miami,” she told Billboard this summer, as quoted by HotNewHipHop. It is one of two comeback stories this week, alongside Lil Nas X’s return. The rest of the tracklist is still to be announced ahead of the Oct. 23 release.
