Ella Langley has caught the Christmas song. “Choosin’ Texas” claims a 22nd week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated Sept. 19, which ties the longest run in the chart’s history, matching Mariah Carey’s perennial “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” Billboard reports.
The numbers
In the tracking week of Sept. 4–10, the song totaled 24 million official U.S. streams, 56.9 million radio airplay audience impressions and 6,000 sold, per Billboard and Luminate. It stays No. 1 on Streaming Songs for a 22nd week and returns to No. 1 on Digital Song Sales for a 17th. It has also spent 40 weeks atop Hot Country Songs.

Two weeks earlier, the 20th week broke the record for the most weeks at No. 1 among non-holiday songs, passing Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road.” The song debuted on the Hot 100 dated Nov. 1, 2025, became her first top 10 in January and first led in February. When Billboard noted the 21st week on Sept. 8, Langley reacted on her Instagram Story, writing “Unreal,” per Billboard.
And the albums chart
The same week, Langley’s Dandelion returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a third nonconsecutive week with 67,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Sept. 10. Billboard says that is the smallest total for a No. 1 album in more than a year. The album debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated April 25 and has never left the top five. Olivia Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love rises to No. 2, and Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem to No. 3.
The CMA Awards lead
Langley is also the leading nominee for the 60th annual CMA Awards, announced Sept. 10, with nine nods, tying the record for the most in one year by a female artist, per Rolling Stone. She’s up for Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year, and “Choosin’ Texas,” which she co-wrote with Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor, is nominated for single, song and music video of the year. Taylor Swift also landed her first CMA nomination in four years, for single of the year with “I Knew It, I Knew You.” Lainey Wilson, the reigning Entertainer of the Year, will host the show on Nov. 18 on ABC.
What’s next
Mariah Carey’s song is also a seasonal one, and Billboard notes it could add to its total in the holidays ahead. For now, “Choosin’ Texas” has the record to itself on the non-holiday side, and a chance to claim the outright lead as soon as next week’s chart. Karol G’s “BbY WOW,” with Judeline and rusowsky, also jumps to No. 10 this week.
