Drake took Ella Langley’s record-setting “Choosin’ Texas,” flipped it with Don Toliver and landed in the top five. “Solar Eclipse” debuts at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated Oct. 17, with 15.1 million U.S. streams, 712,000 in radio audience and 1,000 sold in the tracking week of Oct. 2–8, Billboard reports, citing Luminate.
It’s Drake’s record-extending 91st Hot 100 top 10, a run that goes back to “Best I Ever Had” in 2009, and Toliver’s second. His first, as a guest on Internet Money and Gunna’s “Lemonade,” reached No. 6 in November 2020, so this is his first top 10 as a lead artist.

The song also opened at No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Drake’s 33rd, and on Hot R&B Songs, his 10th and Toliver’s first, while “Quebec” started atop Hot Rap Songs. All three come from the Oct. 2 HABIBTI (FOMO) reissue, which added four songs to the album he released in May. It sent HABIBTI from No. 116 to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and from No. 35 to No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, Drake’s record 18th there, passing Future and The Temptations at 17 each, Billboard notes.
The original is right next door. Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” holds at No. 2 after its record 24 weeks at No. 1 and leads Hot Country Songs for a 44th week. Drake and Toliver first previewed their version in the FOMO short film on Sept. 15, Complex reported.
Toliver told Heran Mamo at a recent Grammy Museum Q&A that the song was the collaboration he’d been waiting for, per Complex. He grew up on Drake’s mixtapes, he said, and named Comeback Season and So Far Gone:
I just thought that song in particular was, like, everything I probably could ever want from a collab from us. That particular type of song. So, everything was beautiful. It all played out how it was supposed to play out. I thought it was incredible.

It’s a global hit, too. “Solar Eclipse” enters the Billboard Global 200 at No. 8 with 24.9 million streams, which gives Drake a 46th top 10 on that chart, the most among men and second only to Taylor Swift’s 47, Billboard reports. Swift’s “Patient Zero” holds the Hot 100’s No. 1 for a second week, with streams down 50% to 17.4 million. Watch the official video for “Solar Eclipse” below.
Toliver’s Octane World Tour resumes in Paris on Oct. 25, and Drake has confirmed a 2027 trek of his own.
