The Iceman has defrosted. On Monday night (Aug. 31), Drake walked out in the middle of Don Toliver’s sold-out Scotiabank Arena show in Toronto and played songs from Iceman live for the first time, three and a half months after the album topped the charts.
Toliver was in town on the Nitrous leg of his OCTANE World Tour. Drake emerged during the set and ran through “Shabang,” “Burning Bridges” and “Janice STFU,” the last of which debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100, per Billboard and Rolling Stone. Billboard calls it the first time he has played cuts from the album in an arena.

Toliver handed over the flowers right after:
I appreciate you for inspiring us all. You know damn well this shit wouldn’t be this shit if you ain’t do this shit.

Drake kept it short and warm, thanking the crowd and his host.
I just wanna thank Don for having me out tonight. This is my first time performing the album since it dropped, so thank you for being here.

Why it matters
Iceman has not been toured. Drake released it in May alongside Maid of Honour and Habibti, and the three albums took the top three spots on the Billboard 200 in their opening week, a first. “Janice STFU” gave him his 14th Hot 100 chart-topper, which Rolling Stone says puts him past Michael Jackson for the most No. 1s by a male solo artist. Billboard notes that fans are still waiting for a North American tour of his own, the first since 2023’s It’s All a Blur Tour.
The moment also underlines a Houston-Toronto link. Complex reports that Drake told the crowd “I know we share a second home,” a nod to the Houston ties both men have, and says the pairing has already stirred talk of a collaboration. Toliver’s OCTANE, his fifth album, gave him his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in January.
What’s next
Toliver’s run continues Sept. 2 at Penn State, with Philadelphia, Boston and Brooklyn to follow and a final show in London on Nov. 23. Drake, meanwhile, has been teasing a new project called FOMO for later this year.
