“You jumped off a Ferris wheel, right?” Sexyy Red asks Owen Wilson in the trailer. “No, I threw someone off a Ferris wheel,” he clarifies. That is the energy of the new trailer for Rolling Loud: The Movie, which arrived Thursday (Aug. 13) as a red band trailer, per Complex, and it opens in theaters Oct. 2.
The setup is a dad’s worst festival day. Wilson plays a father who gives in to his 13-year-old son (Christian Convery) and sneaks him into Rolling Loud Miami to see headliner Travis Scott, against his wife’s warnings. Then he loses the kid in what Billboard describes as a sea of 60,000 sweaty rap fans. He teams up with Matt Rife, gets dragged through mosh pits and backstage chaos, and ends up on stage during Scott’s set. Billboard notes that scene was shot during Scott’s actual set at Rolling Loud Miami in December 2024, while he performs “FE!N.”

Sexyy Red, Ty Dolla $ign and Ski Mask the Slump God are among the cameos, alongside Christine Ko, Olivia Luccardi and Henry Winkler. The trailer is below.
Director Jeremy Garelick, who made Murder Mystery 2, built it from real life. He told Complex it started when he took his own son to Rolling Loud in Los Angeles:
I took him to Rolling Loud LA and then lost him, and he was only 13.

He found the boy about half an hour later, he said, hugged him and thought it would make a fun movie. Garelick told People the shared scare “bonded us,” and he has advice for the audience: “I think parents should take their kids and enjoy it.” The film is produced by Live Nation Studios and American High in collaboration with Rolling Loud, and Ketchup Entertainment is releasing it.
It is a big swing for a festival brand. Rolling Loud’s only U.S. festival of 2026 took place in Orlando in May, headlined by Don Toliver, Ken Carson and Playboi Carti, per Billboard, and the film’s first teaser premiered at that festival.
The film opens in theaters Oct. 2. We later covered how it fared at the box office.
