KATSEYE are asking the question everyone watching their rise has been asking. In the first trailer for KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS, Sophia Laforteza wonders, “How did we get to this point so quickly?” Tickets for the film went on sale Wednesday (July 15), Billboard reports.
The group announced the film on July 8. It gets a limited theatrical run from Aug. 12, according to Official Charts, with dates varying by region. Nadia Hallgren, who directed Becoming, is behind the camera for the project, which Interscope Films and Boardwalk Pictures produced with HYBE x Geffen. It promises never-before-seen footage, fan videos from the group’s EYEKONS fandom and candid interviews with Megan, Lara, Sophia, Daniela and Yoonchae.

The trailer runs about a minute, cutting live performance footage against grueling dance rehearsals while their recent hit “Pinky Up” pounds underneath. Daniela Avanzini sighs an eye-rolling “Bro …”, and Megan Skiendiel adds that “we always had that chaotic-ness.” Watch it below.
The film follows the group from the pressure cooker of Dream Academy, the 2023 reality competition that formed them, through their viral, chart-bothering breakout. The same team made Netflix’s Pop Star Academy: Katseye. Co-founder Manon Bannerman, currently on hiatus, appears in the trailer’s group footage but not on her own, Billboard notes. For where the lineup stands now, see our look at Sophia’s return and the group’s lineup.
Trafalgar Releasing, which is distributing the event worldwide, framed it as a fan gathering. Its Kymberli Frueh, EVP of programming and content acquisitions, said in a statement:
We are excited to bring the fandom together in theatres around the world for a shared, immersive experience.

The timing is deliberate. Their third EP, WILD, arrives Aug. 14 on HYBE x Geffen, and the WILDWORLD tour opens in Amsterdam on Sept. 11 before a North American run starting Oct. 22 in Washington, D.C. The film’s home release is set too: we’ve since reported that it streams on Disney+ and Hulu from Oct. 16.
