ComplexCon 2026: Lucki Hurt in a Fight Outside, Ye Joins Playboi Carti Onstage

ComplexCon’s 10th edition, its first in Los Angeles, was billed as an Opium takeover: Playboi Carti co-art-directed it with Fragment’s Hiroshi Fujiwara, and his label’s acts headlined both nights at Crypto.com Arena. The weekend’s biggest stories came from elsewhere, though. On Saturday (Oct. 3), the Chicago rapper Lucki was hurt in a fight outside the venue that left four people injured. On Sunday, Ye was back at Carti’s side.

What police have confirmed

The Los Angeles Police Department said a fight broke out among a large group outside the Los Angeles Convention Center at about 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, and that the group “quickly dispersed” when officers arrived. Four people had injuries “consistent with stab wounds or lacerations,” police said. Two were taken to a hospital with injuries that “appeared to be the result of a knife attack,” a third took themselves to a hospital, and a fourth, cut on the elbow, declined treatment, according to REVOLT and The FADER. Police did not name the injured, and no suspects had been identified.

Videos shared online appeared to show Lucki bleeding from a wound to his neck. The FADER declined to link to them because they are graphic, and noted that none of them show who caused the injuries. Citing law enforcement sources, TMZ reported that an unknown person struck Lucki in the side of the face while he posed for photos with fans in the parking lot, and that police are investigating the fight as an attempted murder. TMZ’s sources also said Carti was nearby, watching from his car, but was not involved.

Lucki was out of the hospital by Monday (Oct. 5), when he showed his stitches on Instagram and asked police to give back his car. “I got no clue what happened. I don’t know. It’s a lot going on, but I got $100,000 in the car, my debit card,” he said in an Instagram Story, per REVOLT. No arrests have been reported.

ComplexCon said the fight happened “on the public street outside the event,” and released this statement on Sunday:

The safety and security of our guests, talent, partners and staff is our highest priority. We are aware of an incident that occurred outside the ComplexCon event yesterday and our security team and the LAPD responded immediately. We take incidents of this nature extremely seriously and remain focused on maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone attending ComplexCon.

Ye’s night with Carti

Carti closed the festival on Sunday (Oct. 4) and handed the start of his set to Ye. Wearing a pitch-black mask, the artist formerly known as Kanye West rapped “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” with Carti working as his hype man, then the two ran through “Carnival” and “Off the Grid,” Complex reported. It was a public reunion after what Complex called “a brief internet scuffle last year.”

Carti then tore into “Stop Breathing,” “Pop Out” and “Punk Monk” beneath a steel “00pium house” lowered onto the stage, and walked off to “Olympian.” Ye’s daughter, North West, was also onstage, and Destroy Lonely and Ken Carson joined Carti later in the set. A night earlier, Ken Carson had opened his own headline set by bringing out Carti for their song “deaf note.”

Kai Cenat and Ye, two years on

Ye also walked the convention floor on Sunday with his wife, Bianca Censori, and stopped at the booth for VIVET, Kai Cenat’s clothing brand. In videos from the booth, the two talked about VIVET and were all smiles, which Complex read as a sign their 2024 dispute is behind them. That one began when Cenat showed his fans that a pair of Vultures pants Ye sent him were far too big, and Ye answered in a DM: “Don’t make no jokes about my clothes.”

Cenat later told his stream that he’d been walking Ye through VIVET’s electrician boot and plans for a shorter version. “He said, ‘I like how you already have it.’ He likes how the boot is already; he likes how big it is,” Cenat said, per Complex.

Both camps have more coming this month. Complex reports that Ken Carson and Destroy Lonely’s joint album, 00Twinz, is due in October, and Ye picks his tour back up in Jakarta on Oct. 24.
