Megan Thee Stallion's Tina Snow is back, and she brought a car. “Tina Tuesday Freestyle,” released Tuesday (Sept. 29), is the Houston rapper's first single of the year and the opening move of her Act III era, with a video that strips everything down to Megan and one prop: a shiny orange lowrider she is happy to touch.

The song keeps its promise. Megan had said she would reintroduce Tina Snow, the alter ego she named a 2018 EP after, on the new record, and the freestyle does it in bars rather than concept. Rolling Stone notes that she raps that she “look too good, AI couldn’t generate it,” and that the video is proof of life: she keeps touching the car. HotNewHipHop hears a rapper trying out new flows, which it says has been a criticism of her recent work, and describes the song as a solid teaser for a highly anticipated album. Watch it below.

The release date is still a mystery. When Rolling Stone texted the number on her YouTube bio to ask, “she” replied only with a link to sign up for marketing emails. Megan is eyeing a 2026 release, per Pitchfork, but nothing has been announced.

Why it matters

Act III will be her first album in two years, following Megan: Act II. Megan told Marie Claire that she had originally aimed for a summer release, and that missing that window hurt.

I was very sad because I came to the realization that I was not gonna drop a summer album. I wanted to take my time and record and really write and figure it out.

The gap has been busy for her. She made her Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, guest starred opposite Daniel Radcliffe in the NBC series The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, appeared in the Netflix movie Roommates, and, per Rolling Stone, recorded the FIFA World Cup song “DNA (More Than a Game)” with Andrea Bocelli. Her “Lover Girl” was also a nominee for Best Hip-Hop at Sunday's VMAs, where Cardi B and Kehlani took the prize for “Safe.”

What's next: a release date for Act III, which Pitchfork says she is eyeing for 2026.
