Daddy Yankee wants you to put down the phone and send a postcard. His new album, LA POSTAL, out Oct. 30, is a 15-song concept record about love in its different forms, and the first single, “BOTZ,” arrived Friday (Oct. 9) with a video built around kisses.

“A postcard says something a text can’t; I stopped, I thought of you, and I wanted you to hold onto it,” he said in a statement quoted by Consequence. “That’s the spirit of this album.” In his Spanish-language Instagram announcement, he framed each song as a love letter to a different kind of love: romantic, familial and self-love, per Complex's translation.

It's his 13th studio album and his first concept album, released via DY Music, and Consequence says it folds Afro-Caribbean and Punjabi influences into his reggaeton. “BOTZ,” short for “Bésame Otra Vez” (“Kiss Me One More Time”), was co-written with Keityn and produced by Jeremy Ayala, L.e.x.v.z., DUP and Xound. “It touches on my hardcore reggaeton roots with some new textures and melodies,” he said. “It’s got the DY sound, and it’s very catchy.”

STILLZ directed the video, which uses stop-motion to catch real couples moving in for a kiss, cut with shots of Daddy Yankee performing. In his announcement, he called a kiss “one of the most powerful tools we have as human beings.” Watch it below.

The release lines up with one of the biggest nights of his career. The Latin Recording Academy will honor him as its 2026 Person of the Year at a private gala in Las Vegas on Nov. 11, during Latin Grammy Week, with international artists and close friends performing his songs. “This recognition from The Latin Recording Academy is a dream come true,” he said when the honor was announced in April.

It caps quite a comeback. Daddy Yankee announced his retirement in 2022, calling Legendaddy the last album of his career, before returning with what the Academy describes as purpose-driven music shaped by spiritual reflection and personal transformation. That turn produced Lamento en Baile last October, and its single “Sonríele” reached No. 1 on Billboard's Latin Airplay chart.

LA POSTAL arrives Oct. 30, 12 days before the gala.
